A cooperation protocol was signed yesterday in São Paulo, Brazil, between APA - Administração do Porto de Aveiro and PORTOS RS - Autoridade Portuária dos Portos do Rio Grande do Sul, to promote the exchange between the two port authorities regarding the achievement of common interests in areas such as trade promotion, professional training, technological development and innovation.
The protocol, signed by Eduardo Feio, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Port of Aveiro, and Cristiano Pinto Klinger, President of the Port Authority of Rio Grande do Sul, strengthens the historical, cultural and friendship ties between Portugal and Brazil, especially bilateral cooperation.
It is important to mention that in 2022, the Port of Aveiro received 34 ships from Brazil whose cargo represented about 16% of the total, 67% of which came from Rio Grande do Sul.
The main types of cargo received were wood and agri-food products.
