The Port of Aveiro registered a growth of 1.3% in the 1st trimester of 2023, compared with the same period of the previous year, with a total of 1,411,834 tons of handled cargo.

The Solid Bulk, driven by the food products, were the type of cargo that most contributed to this performance, with a growth of 21.3%. 

Non-metallic mineral products, disodium carbonate and liquid fuels were other goods that helped this performance. 

Cement, metallurgical products and chemical wood pulp were the counterparts. 

It is important to highlight that the volume of exports increased 5.7% in comparison with the same period of the previous year. 

In the first quarter, 247 ships called at the Port of Aveiro.
