In December, the contract for the 'Implementation of Digital Gateways at the Port of Aveiro' project was signed. This innovative project marks an important step in the modernisation and digitalisation of the port's land access. The initiative covers the North, Liquid Bulk and Solid Bulk terminals, and aims to transform the current validation and control processes.
It includes installing advanced technologies for recognising, validating and registering people, vehicles and goods. These solutions will integrate the Single Port Card (CUP) and the Single Logistics Window (JUL), promoting more efficient management of terminal entry and exit flows.
Modernising the gates will simplify and automate processes that have previously been carried out manually. This advance will not only contribute to improving port infrastructure, but also to making supply chains more sustainable, thereby reinforcing the Port of Aveiro's commitment to innovation and efficiency.
Please note that there may be temporary constraints on the usual operation of the gates during the execution of the contract. We rely on the understanding and cooperation of all Port of Aveiro users, confident that this investment will bring significant improvements to the entire port community.
The contract is due to be completed on 4 December 2025.
