Yesterday, the Port of Aveiro hosted the 'Norwegian Delegation Visit to Portugal: Port Modernisation' mission, an initiative promoted by the Directorate-General for Maritime Policy as part of the EEA Grants Blue Growth Programme. The event was organised in collaboration with the National Management Unit of the EEA Grants, the Norwegian Embassy, and Innovation Norway.
As part of the Blue Economy, the event brought together 35 delegates from Portugal and Norway, providing a unique opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations and promote constructive dialogue on issues related to port modernisation.
During the meeting, key issues related to innovation in the maritime sector were discussed to encourage the exchange of ideas and good practice, and to identify new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.
The programme also included visits to PRIO Energy and CS Wind PT, two leading companies located within the Port of Aveiro's jurisdiction. Both companies are notable examples of dynamism, innovation and sustainability, highlighting the region's strategic role in the context of energy and technological transition.
