This was the fifth consecutive year that the Port of Aveiro has been present at Intermodal South America, one of the largest logistics, cargo transport and foreign trade events in South America. The event took place in São Paulo, Brazil, between 22 and 24 April.

The Port of Aveiro participated as part of the joint 'Ports of Portugal' stand, coordinated by APP (Associação dos Portos de Portugal), alongside the ports of Leixões, Lisbon, Setúbal and Sines.

This presence reflects the national port sector's international promotional efforts, showcasing a collaborative strategy and synergies between the key stakeholders in the Portuguese maritime and port logistics sector.

The national delegation also included various business partners from the sector, including the ETE Group, Fernando Coelho Despachantes Oficiais, Portline Ocean, Santos e Vale and Yilport Iberia. This highlights the collaborative spirit and the Portuguese port ecosystem's capacity for an integrated response.

On 23 April, an exclusive business networking event was held at the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in São Paulo, supported by AICEP Portugal Global and the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in Brazil. The event enabled the Port of Aveiro to strengthen its commercial and institutional relationships with Brazilian partners, showcase its expertise, and forge new strategic partnerships in this promising market.

Notably, Brazil currently accounts for around 10 per cent of the Port of Aveiro's total cargo traffic, particularly in the timber and agri-food segments.

Participation in Intermodal South America 2025 further demonstrates the Port of Aveiro's dedication to internationalisation and strengthening its connections with global markets, especially in South America.
