On November 29, between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., the Aveiro Port Authority will conduct a drill at the Liquid Bulk Terminal, in coordination with the competent authorities, civil protection agents, and companies operating on the docks. During this period, there may be restrictions on road access to the Liquid Bulk Terminal.
This activity is in accordance with the Internal Emergency Plan (IEP) and aims primarily to test the operational response of the Port of Aveiro in an emergency scenario.
The drill will involve three fire brigades and, for the first time, will make use of the Special Firefighting Vehicle (VECI) of the Ílhavo Volunteer Firefighters. This equipment, unique in Portugal, was acquired two months ago and represents an investment of nearly €600,000, jointly supported by the Municipality of Ílhavo, the Port of Aveiro, and the various companies operating at the Liquid Bulk Terminal.
Carrying out this drill contributes to the continuous improvement of emergency preparedness and response, ensuring effective coordination among all stakeholders at the Liquid Bulk Terminal.
We appreciate everyone’s understanding for any inconvenience caused.
