ASM Industries, the largest national producer of wind towers and offshore foundations, has announced its incorporation by the CS Wind group, a world leader in the manufacture of wind towers, following an acquisition process, thus enabling "ASM Industries to gain critical size and achieve its goal of being the largest manufacturer of wind towers and offshore foundations in Europe.

The company also states that "With this transaction, ASM Industries intends to invest significantly in strengthening the production capacity of its current plant in the Port of Aveiro and even be able to build a new monopiles factory, creating a true production cluster for Renewable Energies in Portugal to serve the entire European market, reinforcing the strategic role of the Port of Aveiro".

It should be recalled that ASM Industries was the first industrial unit installed at the ZALI of the Aveiro Port, which has been in full operation since 2020 and is dedicated to the manufacture of wind towers and foundations for application in a maritime environment. The Port of Aveiro recently concluded the construction of a private dock with 200m, duly infrastructured, representing an investment of 6,680,842.00€, which will serve exclusively that industrial unit. 

The Port of Aveiro thus strengthens its competitiveness in the handling of project cargoes and the conditions for the creation of an offshore industry cluster in this port infrastructure.
