The Administração do Porto de Aveiro, S.A., awarded the construction of a Logistics Support Zone at ZALI, for the amount of 2,346,900 euros, with an execution deadline until April 2022.
This construction work, part of the strategic project "Infrastructure of ZALI", covers an area of 5.8 hectares and aims to meet the increased demand of the Port of Aveiro for flows of goods, which, because they are in transit, need reception areas outside the port terminals to perform value-added services and others that can not be performed in their factories of origin / destination. We are referring to project cargo, in particular wind energy components, and containerised and ro-ro cargo inherent to regular services.
The Port of Aveiro intends to reinforce, in this way, its industrialisation strategy, in order to increase the attraction of new private investment and exports.
The investment for the construction of this infrastructure is financed in 42.68% by the Cohesion Fund, under the Competitiveness and Internationalisation Operational Programme (COMPETE 2020).
