Eduardo Feio, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Port of Aveiro, signed yesterday, Wednesday, the deed of establishment of LogIN CoLAB - Collaborative Laboratory in the area of Logistics.

The LogIN CoLAB is a project funded with 1.3 million euros by the Foundation for Science and Technology, led by the Polytechnic Institute of Guarda, being a multidisciplinary research association, which aims to promote and exercise research and development initiatives (R & D) targeted to the logistics sector. Its guidelines are to meet the needs of stakeholders, improving their efficiency and competitiveness in the logistics sector, as well as contribute to achieving the internationally defined goals for decarbonisation, dematerialisation and promotion of the circular economy.

Besides APA - Administração do Porto de Aveiro, APDL - Administração do Porto do Douro, de Leixões e de Viana de Castelo, Câmara Municipal da Guarda, Centre for Informatics and Systems of the University of Coimbra (CISUC), Coficab, Inova-Ria, Instituto Politécnico de Tomar, Instituto Politécnico da Guarda, Olano Portugal, Transporte Bernardo Marques, Infraestruturas de Portugal, Stratio Automotive and Wavecom are also part of the project.

The adhesion to this association presents itself as an added value for the Port of Aveiro, considering the Port's Strategy for Energy Transition and the fulfilment of the goals established in the same, since one of the objects of LogIN CoLAB is the pursuit of R&D activities, transfer of knowledge and technologies in conjunction with other entities, with a view to, among others, the promotion of efficiency in logistics chains.
