The Port of Aveiro is visiting the Port of Ilhéus, in the Brazilian state of Bahia, at the invitation of CODEBA - Companhia das Docas do Estado da Bahia, following the presence at the 27th edition of Intermodal South America, in São Paulo, which ended on March 2.

On Friday the 3rd, the entourage of the Port of Aveiro, led by Eduardo Feio, President of the Board of Directors, was received in the City Hall of Ilhéus by its Vice-President, Bebeto Galvão, followed by a working meeting, in which the Director-President of Codeba, Ana Paula Calhau, was also present, the president of the Commercial and Industrial Association of Ilhéus (ACII), Libério Menezes, the secretary of the Civil House, Mozart Aragão, the special technical advisor of the Secretariat of Economic Development and Innovation, Vinícius Briglia, and the superintendent of Economic Development and Innovation, Maurício Galvão.

During the meeting several forms of cooperation were discussed, including the attraction of new cargo flows, as well as the attraction of investments for both ports.

Yesterday, March 6th, the Portuguese delegation was received at the Port of Ilheus, which, in 2022, was the 3rd Brazilian port from which the Port of Aveiro received more goods, namely forestry and agrifood products.

During the visit contacts were established with the companies Multilog, one of the main logistics operators in Brazil, Intermarítima, logistics and port operator at the Port of Ilhéus, and Davos Mineração, a mining company that uses the Port of Ilhéus for manganese exports.

It should be recalled that last November the Port of Aveiro signed a cooperation agreement with CODEBA - Companhia das Docas do Estado da Bahia, which aims to promote the exchange between the two port authorities regarding the achievement of common interests in areas such as technological development, innovation, professional training and trade promotion.
