The Port of Aveiro ends the tour through the ports of CODEBA - Companhia das Docas do Estado da Bahia, with a visit to the Port of Aratu-Candeias, working meetings with businessmen from the logistics area and a visit to SENAI CIMATEC, a university center dedicated to innovation and technological development.
On Tuesday the 7th, the Port of Aveiro delegation, led by Eduardo Feio, President of the Board of Directors, visited the Port of Aratu-Candeias, about 50 km from Salvador, where several forms of cooperation were discussed, including attracting new cargo flows, as well as attracting investment to both ports. There was also a working meeting with businessmen from the logistics area who operate in that port infrastructure, having been presented the commercial potential of the Port of Aveiro, as well as planned investments.
On the same day the delegation had the opportunity to present the Port of Aveiro to the Secretary of Infrastructure of the Government of Bahia, Sergio Brito, and also be received by the Consul General of Portugal in Bahia, Jorge Fonseca.
The last day of the visit to Bahia, the 8th, began with a business networking session at the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce of Bahia, held in cooperation with the AICEP Delegation in São Paulo, where about 20 businessmen from the most varied economic sectors were present and several commercial contacts were established.
The tour ended with a visit to CIMATEC, a university center dedicated to innovation and technological development, where several forms of cooperation were discussed, particularly at the level of professional training of its students in the area of port management.
The Portuguese delegation was always accompanied by the CEO of Codeba - Companhia das Docas do Estado da Bahia, Ana Paula Calhau, an entity with which, last November, the Port of Aveiro signed a cooperation agreement, which aims to promote exchanges between the two port authorities with regard to the achievement of common interests in areas such as technological development, innovation, vocational training and trade promotion.
