
The Port of Aveiro attended the WindEurope Annual Event 2026, which took place in Madrid from 21 to 23 April.
The event brought together key players in the European wind energy sector, against a backdrop that highlighted the need to accelerate the energy transition, ensure greater security of supply and boost the industry’s competitiveness. Key topics included the development of offshore wind, the strengthening of energy infrastructure, the simplification of licensing processes and a focus on repowering as a means of boosting installed capacity.
The importance of regulatory stability and cooperation between countries to meet European targets was also emphasised, at a decisive moment for the sector’s sustained growth.
The Port of Aveiro’s presence reflects its strategic positioning in supporting the development of offshore wind energy in Portugal, keeping pace with the sector’s main trends and dynamics at European level.
