Last week, on 24 April, final-year students from the Infante D. Henrique Nautical College undertook a study visit to the Port of Aveiro as part of their courses in Port Management and Transport and Logistics Management. The initiative brought together around thirty students, giving them a first-hand insight into the day-to-day operations of one of the country’s main port facilities. The programme began with a welcome session and an institutional presentation by the Port of Aveiro.

This was followed by a technical visit to the Dry Bulk Terminal, where students had the opportunity to see first-hand the operations of SoGrain, a company that receives, stores and dispatches cereals. During the visit, the logistics processes associated with the handling and storage of bulk cargo were explored, as well as the challenges and best practices within the sector.

The visit was complemented by a tour of the Liquid Bulk Terminal, allowing students to deepen their understanding of different types of cargo and port operations.
This initiative strengthens the link between the academic world and the port sector, contributing to the practical training of future professionals in the field and to the sharing of knowledge between institutions.
